Yi Smart Dash Camera with 2.7-inch screen, wide-angle lens launched in India

Yi technology, backed by Xiaomi, has launched the Yi Smart Dash Camera in India. The new device adds to the company’s range of cameras in India, like the Yi 4K Action Camera, Yi Home Security Camera and the Yi Action Camera. The new Camera comes as a car monitoring system attached to the windscreen, and it will record while you drive.

Yi Smart Dash Camera comes with a new Advanced Driver Assistant System that provides real-time warnings to drivers.  The device ensures drivers’ safety by pushing prompt lane departure alerts in case they stray out of the lane. Additionally, its Collision Warning System smartly detects the gap between the vehicle ahead, and alerts the driver about an impact if it stops or slows down.

The Smart Dash Camera features a 2.7 inch 16:9 full HD screen to watch the recorded content. The in-built Wi-Fi support helps users stream live video from their camera. It also packs a 165-degree wide-angle lens with f/1.8 aperture, along with a high sensitivity image sensor for night vision. It has the capability to record videos at 1080p 60fps and 30fps, supported by a microSD card slot for storing the footage.

The camera comes with a G-sensor, that allows the camera to automatically record and save clips in case of emergencies. Users can operate the camera by using the Yi application available on both Android and iOS. With the app, one can see real-time footage or playback a video.

The product is available for purchase on Amazon in Space Grey colour. It carries dimensions of 17 x 11.2 x 6.1 cm and a weight of 295 grams. It has a price tag of Rs 5,899, but a company discount of Rs 699 brings down the price to Rs 5200.
