On the other hand, Redmi 7 was launched in April with a price tag of Rs 7,999 for 2GB RAM and 32GB storage variant, while the 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage is priced at Rs 8,999. The device is available for sale at company’s website, Mi stores and Amazon India and it comes in a three color options: Comet Blue, Eclipse Black and Lunar Red. Today we are going to compare both the smartphones.
Design and Display:
Infinix S4 has a sleek design with glossy and gradient finish at the back. The body of smartphone is made of poly carbonate plastic. While the Redmi 7 also comes with a gradient finish which looks good in this price segment. Company calls it Aura Smoke design, and the color changes on the back panel looks very beautiful. Overall both the smartphone looks premium in budget segment, but we find Infinix S4 looks more stylish because of its sleek design.
The Xiaomi Redmi 7 features a 6.26-inch HD+ display with 1520 x 720 pixels, 19:9 aspect ratio, and a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. While the Infinix S4 comes with a 6.21-inch display with 720 x 1520 pixel resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a 89% screen to body ratio. Overall both the smartphones rank similar, offering decent display with good viewing angles, and we do not face any issue in direct sunlight in either.
Performance and Software:
Infinix S4 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal Storage. On the other hand, Redmi 7 packs an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 processor along with Adreno 506 GPU. Both the phones can easily handle day to day tasks and we do not face any issue in app switching.
Games like Subway Surfers, Temple Run and Candy Crush ran smoothly on both the devices. But neither of these smartphones can be recommended to heavy gamers. Redmi 7 runs latest MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie. While Infinix S4 runs Android 9.0 Pie, which is based on XOS 5.0 on top. Both the devices come with lots of preloaded apps.
The Infinix S4 has a triple camera setup with 13MP primary lens with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. While, the Redmi 7 comes with a dual rear camera setup, which combines 12MP primary lens and 2MP secondary lens.
Though both smartphones can capture decent shots in day light condition with good amount of details. While the low light shots were just average with noise and less detail. Still, Infinix S4 has clear edge over the Redmi 7 with triple cameras.
Infinix S4 features a 32MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture, on the other side Redmi 7 has an 8MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. In our opinion, Infinix S4 can capture better shots with good amount of details in various lighting condition as compared to Redmi 7.
Battery and Connectivity:
Both smartphones have similar attributes. Both are fueled by 4000mAh battery without any fast charging support. Fingerprint sensor and face unlock feature works fast on both the phones. Connectivity options include dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5 mm audio jack, FM radio, and micro USB port in both the devices.
Infinix S4 and Redmi 7 are decent performers in budget segment. But Infinix S4 wins this battle with a triple rear camera, a 32MP front camera, sleek design and better display. On the other hand, Redmi 7 has its advantages like Gorilla Glass 5 protection and stylish design.
