Vivo’s latest mid-range smartphone Y17 isn’t something over the top in specifications compared to its competition but promises great battery life.
Vivo has established itself as a well-known smartphone company in India. Vivo is known for its phone cameras, unique designs, and lately for in-display fingerprint sensors and bezel-less screens.
The company recently launched the Vivo Y17, a Rs. 20,000 phone, that boasts of its triple camera packed rear module and a massive 5000mAh. The smartphone with, sleek body and a good camera doesn’t fail to tempt buyers. This would include especially those who prefer to have nice looking smartphone with a nice camera and sufficient battery to get them through the day.
Vivo Y17 Pro Design and Display:
The waterdrop like notch design for the front camera was the first thing to grab our attention at first glance. Other than that, we liked its rounded corners and sleek body in colors like Mineral Blue and Mystic Purple.
There is a 6.35-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1544.
Even though the material used for the rear is plastic, but felt like glass.
Vivo Y17 Performance and Specifications:
The phone was responsive with smooth animations. Fingerprint and face recognition both worked fine on Funtouch OS 9, based on Android 9.0.
Given the hardware specifications, Vivo Y17 didn’t perform well in performance benchmarks. The CPU scores are poorer than those of the Samsung Galaxy M30.The MediaTek Helio P35 processor paired with 4GB RAM wasn’t enough to help it score with an impressive result. On the other hand, its 128Gigs of storage is rather too good for the device.
Vivo Y17 Camera Performance:
The Vivo Y17 has a 13MP f/2.2 primary rear camera with an 8MP f/2.2 wide-angle camera and a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor. Still, low light shots were not as per the standards set by its competition. But its front camera made up for it through its 20MP shooter with the aid of AI beautification.
Details under artificial indoor lighting are good. But colors are washed out and inaccurate under the indoor lighting. In daylight, the camera performs great. The Y19 can lock focus pretty quickly and the dynamic range is overall average. .
Vivo Y17Pro Battery and Connectivity:
Vivo Y17’s 5000mAh battery performance was very impressive. According to the company. the phone supports “dual engine” fast charging, which means there’s extra circuitry for speed as well as protection.
All of the daily activities like photography, switching apps, video streaming, and web browsing were exceptionally held by its huge battery.
The Vivo Y17 is a nice-looking smartphone with a massive battery life as well as quick charging, but performance is not as satisfying as its competitors. Still, those who are looking for a phone with a decent camera that can get them going throughout the day, this can still be an impressive deal.
