Realme is the top emerging smartphone brand in India. Now the company has launched the successor of Realme 2 named as Realme 3, priced at Rs 8,999 for 3GB RAM model and Rs 10,999 for 4GB RAM model. The smartphone is available in three color options – Dynamic Black, Radiant Blue and Black, and it is available on Flipkart and Realme website. Realme 3 comes with a beautiful design and great specifications like dual rear camera with Chroma Boost, and Nightscape mode. Today we are going to review this device.
Realme 3 Design and Display:
Realme 3 has glossy finish at the back with gradient design, which looks premium in this price segment. The device comes with a polycarbonate plastic body which feels comfortable to hold, but easily attracts fingerprint and smudges. We would recommend you to use a back cover. In Realme 3, you get the SIM tray with 3 slots, which allows two SIM with Dual 4G VOLTE and one micro SD card at same time. In the box, you get a silicone case, SIM eject tools, Micro-USB cable, and a 10W normal charger.
Realme 3 features a 6.2-inch HD+ waterdrop notch display with 1520 X 720 pixels resolution, which is a bit low for this size. There are many smartphones which offer Full HD+ display in this price segment like Asus Zenfone and Max Pro M1. We found the colors punchy and brightness quite good on this device. The phone also does not support the Widewine L1 standard, which means you cannot watch HD content on Netflix and other streaming platforms.
Realme 3 Performance and Specifications:
Realme 3 is powered by an octa-core Helio P70 (Compare Helio P70 and Snapdragon 660) processor, coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, which is expandable via MicroSD card. The smartphone runs Android 9.0 Pie with ColorOS 6.0 on top. During our review, we did not find any lag in multi-tasking and app switching. Face unlock and rear mounted fingerprint scanner are very fast on this device.
Realme 3 can easily handle the graphic intensive games like PUBG and Asphalt 9 without any lag, and frame drops even with the graphic setting on High. Gaming experience was quite smooth on this device because of Helio P70 chipset and Game Space feature, which increase the performance of device while gaming. We did not find any network issue, and sound output was also good on this device.
Realme 3 Camera:
Realme 3 features a dual rear camera setup. It includes a 13MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, 5P lens, nightscape, Hybrid HDR, Chroma Boost, Portrait Mode, and 1.12um pixels. During our review, we have clicked some images, and found camera does capture good colors and details in outdoor condition. In other lighting conditions, it produces oversaturated images, which hopefully will be fixed via a software update.
On the front, Realme 3 comes with a 13MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and AI beautification. It captures detailed selfies under outdoor condition, but struggles in low light scenario. Realme 3 can shoot Full HD videos with video quality, but stabilization is missing on both cameras.
Realme 3 Battery and Connectivity:
Realme 3 is fueled by 4230mAh battery without any fast charging support. We observe it having a great battery life, and expect it to last for two days for a normal user. The smartphone has all sensors like Fingerprint Sensor, Magnetic Induction, Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, G-sensor, Acceleration Sensor, and Pedometer. For connectivity, it includes dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, microUSB and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Realme 3 is the perfect budget smartphone under Rs 10,000. If you are looking for smartphone with great specifications, good cameras and premium looks, you can go with Realme 3.
