Infinix S4 review: the best budget phone under 10,000 INR to buy this June

Indian Infinix phones have a reputation for launching devices at a low price. But this Infinix S4 is pushing things way beyond. For a device under 10,000 INR, Infinix S4 is offering a triple rear camera and a 32 MP selfie shooter with some AI integration as well. The device looks impressive on paper and is priced at par with the latest Nokia 2.2. Here is the full review.

Infinix S4 Design and Display

The device has a premium looking body. The only colour available is Nebula blue. The glass rear does its best at giving it a premium look and feel to it. The back on this device is all plastic but feels premium. The 6.2inch IPS display with minimal bezels has an FHD+ resolution with 19:5:9 aspect ratio. The display is easy to hold with a single hand. Contrast and brightness offered by the device were also found great.

On the rear, the device is sporting a triple camera. The volume rockers are placed along with the power button on the right. There is a 3.5 mm headphone jack on top with a water-drop notch, and micro USB port and speaker grill are placed at the bottom of the device. The fingerprint sensor on this device is placed in the first quadrant of the back. The fingerprint is quick to read and very impressive for an entry-level smartphone.

Infinix S4 Performance and Specification

The CPU employed on this smartphone is Helio P22 2.0 GHz Processor. It felt good enough to play high-end games, like PUBG on balanced settings at 40-50 frames per second. The only variant available here is of 3GB RAM and 32 GB storage, which is expandable up to 256 GB via microSD card. The device functioned smooth and lag-free overall. Infinix S4 also features an AI-enabled load detection that automatically allocates resources, and performs fine on the device. The device runs on Android 9.0(pie), out of the box.

Infinix S4 Camera Performance

Infinix S4 is being called out as a selfie-centric smartphone. For a price under 10,000 INR, we are getting a triple rear camera setup, which is amazing by itself. There is a 13 MP Primary lens, an 8 MP ultra-wide lens of 120 degrees, and a depth sensor of 2MP. The cameras can record up to 1080p. The device also features a qual LED flash, rather than the much common dual LED.

There is a customizable bokeh setting on the camera. Which can adjust the blur and depth effect to bring the subject in focus. The image reproduction was found good and contrast came out great. The camera produced a great image. Contrast and saturation also felt fine.

For the front, we have a 32 MP shooter. The selfie shooter uses an inbuilt AI software which helps in producing quality shots. AI portrait on this device is way ahead of any other of its competitor. With an aperture of f/2.0, the low light image quality also appeared very satisfying.

Infinix S4 Battery and Connectivity

The device is powered by a 4,000 mAh battery but does not cause the device weight to go higher. The low-end specifications on the device with a 4000 mAh resulted in excellent battery life. We also noticed a screen on time of 5+ hours on this device.

For connectivity, Infinix phone offers Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth v5.00, and Micro-USB. Sensors on the phone include an ambient light sensor, compass/ magnetometer, proximity sensor, and fingerprint sensor. It also offers face unlock technology.

Final Verdict

The build quality on this device feels premium. Triple camera at this price is not just gimmicky but actually delivers, and the selfie shooter also performs well. And for a price less than 10,000INR, it’s way ahead than its competition. If you are looking for the best budget device in this range, this is the perfect deal.
