Asus, the Taiwanese electronics giant, has launched the next models in their Vivobook series. The new additions Asus VivoBook 14 and Asus VivoBook 15 have debuted in India, starting at a price of Rs 33,990 and Rs. 34,990 respectively.
The VivoBook X412 (14) is a 14-inch device weighing 1.5 kg, while the VivoBook 15 X512 comes as a 15.6-inch model weighing 1.6 kg. Both are available in four colours each – coral crush, transparent silver, peacock blue, and slate grey.
Both laptops feature a Full HD screen, with frameless four-sided NanoEdge display, and 5.7 mm bezels on each side. The VivoBook 14 runs NVIDIA GeForce MX230 graphics, and the VivoBook 15 has MX250 GPU, aided by up to 2GB of dedicated video memory. Asus’ Tru2Life Video Technology tunes the videos to give a boost to the colors, clarity and contrast.
The two laptops are built upon Intel 8th Gen Core i7 CPUs. Both have 8GB DDR4 RAM, which is upgradeable to 16GB. Bluetooth 4.2 and 802.11ac 2×2 Wi-Fi are also common to both. Storage on the two devices goes up to 512GB SSD and 1 TB HDD on a solid-state drive. with an additional space for a 2.5-inch hard drive.
Ports on VivoBook 14 and Vivobook 15 include USB-A 3.1, USB-A 2.0 (VivoBook 14 has one, while VivoBook 15 has two), and USB-C 3.1. Other ports are full-size HDMI, a 3.5mm audio jack for headsets, and a microSD card reader. Also available is a round-pin power port exclusively for charging.
There is secure and easy fingerprint login via Windows Hello. Staying on ease of use, the ErgoLift hinge technology helps the keyboard is tilt towards the user to make typing easy. Both the devices get a dual-cell 37Whr lithium-ion polymer battery with fast charging capability. The battery is expected to power the unit for around 10 hours usage on a single charge.
The two models are already on sale from June 11. For now, the VivoBook 14 is exclusively available only on Flipkart. The VivoBook 15 however, is available both through online, as well as offline Asus authorized sellers.
